Abstract

The author analyses the implementation, the progress and the results obtained in the first three years of the research programme of the Commission of the European Communities on integrated and biological pest control. He considers not only the common programme but also the coordinated one, which includes exchanges of scientists throughout Europe. The success of both programmes is underlined, but the author gives also some indications about what has to be done to improve the implementation and orientation of the CEC research programme.
