ERA TO PREPARE ALLOY 800 DATA BOOK FROM EUROPEAN SOURCE
The Alloy 800 Data Bank for the use of designers of high temperature plant and scientists engaged in materials research, is being developed by the CEC Joint Research Centre at Petten. It is to be the nucleus for a European High Temperature Materials Pilot Data Bank. Since 1980 the JRCs Petten and Ispra have developed its pilot phase. ERA undertook a quantitative assessment of the contents of the Alloy 800 Data Bank, specified computer based output formats for its use, produced bulk tensile and stress rupture data sheets using the Data Bank as the information source and specified the proposed contents of an alloy 800 Data Book. ERA is well suited to prepare the Alloy Data Book (which will be done in 1984) because of its experience in data collection and presentation, built up over 23 years through the management of its own materials data production and evaluation project, known as Project 2021.
