Abstract

This paper gives a summary of studies carried out for CEC as part of an appreciation of the opportunities offered by developments in microelectronics to the nuclear industry with special emphasis on liquid metal cooled fast reactors, such as: - Computer based signal processing for core surveillance. - Potential applications of artificial intelligence techniques. - Local area networks. - Integration and automatic decision making. - Sensors.
