TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL EVOLUTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION IN A BEAM - PLASMA SYSTEM
Results of laboratory experiments on the generation of electromagnetic radiation in the beam - plasma system are presented. A high energy, low beam density electron beam (beam energy E-b > 4 keV with the ratio beam density to plasma density n-b/n-o < 5x10**-4) was injected into a weakly magnetized plasma. Temporal and spatial evolution measurements of both electromagnetic and electrostatic signals showed that several radiations could be generated at different times and locations.
