Abstract

OPTIMO is a method that allows us to identify the ranking in the conservation measures for which the energy saving for a given investment is maximum. The method can be used in principle for only a fraction of the building stock: the dwellings for which the decision on conservation measures can be taken, by a single economic actor, over a large number of buildings; typically the State owned buildings. When used for the entire building stock OPTIMO gives an upper limit of the energy saving potential. The minimization is performed taking into account the physical and economic characteristics of the conservation measures (typically the initial conductance and the added thermal resistance). As a result of the minimization procedure, both the extent to which these measures are applied and the order in which they are chosen will be known.
