Abstract

The design and manufacturing of a waveguide mode converter from the TE**o-10 mode in oversized rectangular to the TE**o-11 mode in oversized circular waveguide is described. A differential equation for the cross-sectional shape of the converter was solved numerically. A stainless-steel mandrel was produced on a numerically controlled milling machine. Sixteen converters were produced by means of electroforming on one mandrel.
