THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE BLOOD LEAD - AIR LEAD RELATIONSHIP FROM A BIOLOGICAL AND STATISTICAL STANDPOINT
Existing information on the lead metabolism in the human body is taken as a basis for deriving a mathematical relationship between the concentrations of blood lead and air lead for healthy adults. The parameters of the relationship are obtained by non- linear least squares fitting of experimental blood lead - air lead data relating to individuals studied elsewhere. The biological meaning as well as the statistical significance of the parameters are discussed.
