Résumé

The technique of mu suppression can give an experimental model of laboratory animals without a B lymphocyte. This technique consists in neonatally initiated, repeated injections of anti-mu heterologous antibodies. Rats as well as mice and probably animals of other species can be obtained without B lymphocytes, plasma cells and serum immunoglobulins. It is also possible to suppress only one immunoglobulin class, in the case of the IgD, IgA, IgE and IgG classes by using the corresponding antiserum. However, the results will never be as clear as those obtained with a mu suppression.
