Abstract

For the L(low confinement and H(high confinement) regimes of axisymmetric divertor plasmas, empirical scaling relations for the cross-field electron heat diffusivity chi-e, the diffusion coefficient D and the inward drift velocity v-in are presented. The observed variation of the energy confinement time with plasma current and injection power is explained by the chi-e dependence on local quantities.
