PRODUCTION OF OXYGEN FROM WATER UPON ILLUMINATION BY VISIBLE LIGHT OF A SOLUTION OF FERRIC OXIDE COLLOID
Some properties of Fe-2O-3 colloid as catalyst for water photooxydation are studied. Silver nitrate is used as electron scavenger. O-2 production is measured as a function of colloid concentration, irradiation wavelengths and temperature. Quantum efficiencies of the order of 1 % are obtained.
