Abstract

The measurements of the slowing down spectrum of the ASDEX heating beam are compared with predictions, based on a numerical solution of the Fokker-Planck equation in a two-dimensional velocity space. The result is used to evaluate the charge-exchange spectrum of confined beam particles, emerging from the plasma under various angles with respect to the magnetic field. Thus flux is compared with the yield stemming from direct scattering of the neutral beam particles on the plasma ions.
