Abstract

High standard QA takes an important share within the production and establishment of nuclear facilities. For irradiation devices QA is applied through all stages of the project, from the planning stage until recovery of the samples. This contribution summarizes the QA system applied at HFR Petten in relation to irradiation devices. QA experience is also discussed. The following subjects are treated in detail: + Organisational matters, + Procedures and QA- standards, + QA of components and assembled devices, + The cost benefits of QA. The effectiveness of the QA system applied at HFR Petten is confirmed by the achievements in irradiation testing at the HFR and proven reliability of the HFR Petten test equipment.
