REPORT ON THE 1984 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PLASMA PHYSICS, LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND
The 1984 International Conference on Plasma Physics 1984 ICPP was the third biennial joint sessions of the Kiev International Conference on Plasma Theory and the International Congress on Waves and Instabilities in Plasmas. More than 400 participants from 35 countries attended. Many papers were of direct interest to the fusion community; however, the main emphasis of this conference series is to provide a forum for the complete spectrum of current plasma physics research. The papers presented encompassed the whole range of plasma phenomena in all different environments. The present report does not intend to summarize all recent results and trends in plasma physics, it is a review of only a selection of papers directly related to fusion oriented research. All 450 contributed papers of the conference were compiled into two volumes of proceedings distributed to participants. The invited papers among them are to be published by Euratom-Fusion.
