CEC PROGRAMME ON INTEGRATED AND BIOLOGICAL CONTROL
This publication presents the results of a five-year joint research programme (1979-1983) carried out between the Member Countries of the European Communities, following a Council decision concerning research in the field of plant protection. The main objective was a cooperative effort to attempt to rationalise phytosanitary interventions. The aim was to achieve alternative control methods which are essentially biological in character, and integrated with natural mortality factors. The purpose was to reduce the use of those pesticides which may lead to noxious effects in man, and cause pollution of the environment. The joint programme concerns themes related to fruits, vegetable crops and cereals.
