PISC II - PARAMETRIC STUDY ON THE INTERACTION OF THE UT SYSTEM PARAMETERS AND MEASUREMENT RESULTS
Linked to the PISC II Round Robin test on the NDE of the weldments of heavy steel plates (Reactor Vessels) a Parametric Study has been launched to analyse the effect of the Equipment Characteristics on defect detection, location and sizing. This work is performed in the NDE Section of the Materials Science Division of the J.R.C. of the Commission of the European Communities at Ispra in Italy. A semi-automatic system which allows to switch reflectors - transducers cables and UT instruments characteristics has been set up and these variables are switched one by one without affecting other parameters. While this study is going on, partial results will be commented.
