Abstract

The JRC-Petten has requested from Scientific Group Thermodata Europe the provision of a working compilation of phase diagrams for Cr-Fe-Ni based alloys: This working document comprises critically assessed phase diagrams, providing basic information for research projects involved in the development and use of high temperature superalloys and stainless steels. This is envisaged as the first section of a comprehensive compilation phase diagram data relevant to the above mentioned materials and covers 9 binary and 7 ternary combinations of Fe, Cr, Ni, C and Si. The scope of the work is the critical assessment of experimental phase diagram data and where these data are either unavailable or uncertain to provide via thermodynamic calculations, a set of information consistent with available experimental phase diagram and thermodynamic data.
