Abstract

The principal duty of the Euratom Safeguards Directorate is to carry out its control activities in a routine and timely manner. This generates a constantly growing need for information processing. The essential point, however, is not the computerization, but the establishment of methods which optimize the use of the limited resources. The solution may, but need not necessarily, include the use of computers.
