ACCEPTANCE TESTING AND MONITORING THE CEC PHOTOVOLTAIC PILOT PLANT
The EC contracts for the construction of 15 photovoltaic pilot plants include on-site acceptance tests in order to verify that the rated power was within contractual limits. The present paper sums up the results of these measurements which have been performed on 14 installations, as well as the methods used to extrapolate the actual data to standard test conditions and to compare them with the results of indoor (simulator) measurements on single modules; it is shown that indoor and outdoor results are in good agreement, and that array matching losses were kept small. The second phase of the EC pilot plant project is concerned with the monitoring of the operational behaviour of these installations; we have developed a comprehensive scheme for the handling and analysis of these monitoring data. Data storage, access and display techniques are discussed and some typical results like system availability, subsystem energy efficiencies and power input/output relations are presented.
