METALS IN BONE. PROCEEDINGS OF A EULEP SYMPOSIUM ON THE DEPOSITION, RETENTION AND EFFECTS OF RADIOACTIVE AND STABLE METALS IN BONE AND BONE MARROW TISSUES, ANGERS (F), OCTOBER 11-13, 1984.
This symposium held in Angers, France, on 18-20 October 1984 was being organized by the European Late Effects Project Group (EULEP) and cosponsored by the Commission of the European Communities. The meeting immediately precedes, also in Angers, the 18th European Symposium on Calcified Tissues. The proceedings of the EULEP Symposium deal with many aspects of the deposition, behaviour and effects of various metals in bone, in particular of certain classes of radionuclide which are of importance for radiation protection. The different sections comprise: mineralization on alkaline earth elements; trace metals in bone; bone pathology; aluminium accumulation; dosimetry of radioactive metals; iron and other metals in the bone marrow; transition metals and lanthanides in bone; actinide methods including plutonium in bone; and therapy and decorporation.
