Abstract

Accurate new neutron induced cross-section data in the sub-thermal energy region were requested recently by reactor physicists. To fulfill these requests, a liquid nitrogen cooled methane moderator was installed at GELINA, resulting in a five times increased neutron flux below 20 meV. Preliminary measurements of the 235-U(n,f) cross-section in the MeV region and the influence of the cross-section shape on the Wescott g-f-factor are discussed.
