THE JET JOINT UNDERTAKING - PROGRESS REPORT 1983
This is the first in a series of Annual Technical Progress Reports, giving accounts of JET'S scientific and technical activities and progress. In order to provide a general background, one section of the report describes briefly the origins of the JET project within the EURATOM fusion programmme, basic JET design, objectives and aims of the device, its first six months of operation. Other sections are concerned with: the activities in the newly renamed Operation and Development Department (operation and maintenance of the tokamak, development of engineering equipment for the enhancement of the machine's performance). Activities and progress in the Scientific Department (especially : relating to the specification, procurement and operation of diagnostic equipment, execution of the programme, and the interpretation of experimental results); JET'S programme plans for the immediate future and the JET Development Plan to 1990.
