Abstract

The study examines the possibilities of reducing the impact of the fertiliser industry on the environment by using less polluting techniques and better economy of natural resources. The study considers the liquid effluents, emissions into the atmosphere and the production of solid wastes. The main objective of the study was to identify the techniques which, at the level of processing or treating the effluents and wastes, would allow either reduction in the quantities of these wastes or their beneficial use. The study also covers the problems of disseminating information on these techniques already identified, especially the research/demonstration needs and technical transfer.
