Abstract

This paper surveys various causes responsible for the presence of technetium in the environment. In particular, it examines the most important sources of 99-Tc; various types of nuclear power plants, and fallout caused by nuclear explosions in the atmosphere. From these considerations it is possible to specify certain areas in which further research is necessary.
