Abstract

The partial pressures of hydrogen bromide and water in equilibrium with the ternary system hydrogen bromide - sulphuric acid - water have been investigated. The available literature data and a number of own, experimental measurements were correlated in a set of empirical equations, applicable over a wide range of temperature (0-150 degrees C) and for water concentrations over 20 wt%. A relationship for the calculation of partial pressures in the dynamic determination in a system of several volatile components is presented.
