STUDY OF A 6 OR 12 TRACK POWER SEPARATOR USING PLAN E MULTIJUNCTIONS
The separator supplied power of equal phase and amplitude, to 6 to 12 tracks of a vertical range of 2 GHz wave guides. This range formed part of a "grill" of 16 horizontal tracks used for heating ions or the creation of the plasma current of the Net Intor project. The study is in four parts: the first justifies the use of Plan E multijunctions instead of Plan H whose mechanical execution is easier. The second part concerns the study of the Plan E sectoral cone and gives its dimensions for the 6 track separator. The third part describes the 6 track multijunction and its dimensions and a study of the effect of the final thickness of the walls. Part four describes the behaviour of the separator when meeting the plasma and gives the conditions for its use.
