Résumé

To lower the cost of selective glasses produced in the conveyor system coating process by the Pyrosol technique, technical and economic improvements were investigated. As far as the improvement in the properties of tin oxide is concerned, it is necessary first to deposit a protective coating on the glass to prevent the products generated from the pyrolysis of stannic chloride from reaching the substrate and reacting with the alkalines it contains. The solutions envisaged have not led to positive results, although some other coatings have proved more satisfactory. The development of an apparatus to control the aerosol has endowed the conveyor system Pyrosol equipment with a means of instantaneous control over aerosol production. This enables variations of less than 5% in aerosol output to be detected. In addition, the uniformity and reproducibility of deposits after stopping and restarting the machine are improved. On the other hand, it is possible to obtain a reduction in costs of indium oxide coatings by optimizing the preparation of the indium acetylacetonate and by reprocessing indium based products.
