STOCKAGE DE L'ENERGIE SOLAIRE DANS DES REACTIONS CHIMIQUES REVERSIBLES. ETUDE D'UNE POMPE A CHALEUR CHIMIQUE A AMMONIACATES
The chemical heat pump developed at the Faculte Polytechnique de Mons is based upon two coupled absorptions of ammonia gas in two inorganic salts: CaCl-2.4NH-3 + 4NH-3 = CaCl-2.8NH-3; and NH-4Cl + 3NH-3 = NH-4Cl.3NH-3. The last reaction is advantageously replaced by the change phase NH-3 gas = NH3 liquid. Each system is monovariant. The two salts or the couple salt - NH-3 liquid are in two separated reactors. Their behaviour during storage mode restitution is described . The energy transfer between the two sources assumed by a mass transfer is bounded by an irreducible coupling between the reaction kinetics and the heat transfer in the reacting medium of which the main properties are a great expansion volume, and a very low heat conductivity. The making of such systems are bounded to the quality of heat exchangers, which depends on many parameters. Studies of many heat exchanger elements have resulted in a 0.5m**3 volume prototype with clipped exchanger element and a heating pipe system for circulating fluid. The considered coupled reactions are CaCl-2/NH-3 liquid. The prototype is under testing. It is designed for studies of new heat exchanger elements and of other couples of solid - gas reactions.
