Abstract

The principal viscoplastic formulations are presented for a case of monodimensional behaviour. The study shows how to obtain the principal non-linear systems of differential equations as well as the basic hypotheses to which they are connected. The consequences of such viscoplastic laws on the methods of formulating and resolving problems of mechanical behaviour are outlined. The proposed structure, as well as associated numerical techniques have been subjected to a SOLID-1D monodimensional calculus designed for the study of wave propagation in Hopkinson's experimental apparatus.
