GEOTHERMISCHES PROJEKT BRUCHSAL. REFLEKTIONSSEISMISCHE MESSUNGEN
After intensive preliminary investigation by 3 seismic sections of the structure of possible aquifers in Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein layers in the Bruchsal region, Bruchsal GB 1 and GB 2 were drilled: in all 15 km of seismic sections were recorded and evaluated. A comprehensive evaluation was made possible by assimilating the sections with the existing seismic network and boreholes in the Karlsruhe-Bruchsal concession for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons. Seven reflecting horizons from Tertiary and Mesozoic layers were evaluated. The correlation was primarily based upon the reflecting horizon at the top of the Pechelbronner Schichten. The results are presented in VAR Profiles, depth profiles, and two isochronous maps (Pechelbronn Schichten and Liassic/Rhaetian. Borehole GB 1: depth of 1932 m in Permian; water table rose to approximately 7 m below the surface; temperature at surface approximately 96-97 degrees C, and in the aquifer approximately 114 degrees C. Borehole Bruchsal GB 2: Buntsandstein reached at depth of approximately 2240 m; no Muschelkalk; final depth 2542 m; major inflows in the Permian at surface temperature of 106 degrees C and aquifer temperature greater than 120 degrees C; drop in pressure at 2235 m indicates flow with more than 20 l/s.
