STUDY AND DESIGNING OF A FORESTRY WASTE PILOT HARVESTER
A polyvalent frame to harvest and clean under chips or pellets any kind of forest production or waste has been determined. A choice has been made between two solutions: a cutting system mounted on a conveying arm out of special tractor and a horizontal drum included at the front of 6 wheels suspended chip and carry tractor; it has a 100 KW engine, a slope correcting suspension and a hydromechanical transmission which powers and steers the unit. Its 4 m**3 container can be discharged as high as 2.5 m in commercial road carriers. Its cost will be approximately 80 000 ECU; it will produce chips for 80 ECU/Toe compared to 130 ECU/Toe for firewood in France.
