NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE EXPLORATION AND EXPLOITATION OF OIL AND GAS RESOURCES. PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2ND EC SYMPOSIUM HELD IN LUXEMBOURG, DECEMBER 5-7, 1984.
The major efforts made by the European oil and associated industries with the financial assistance of the Community have produced significant results over the last five years. The second Symposium on new petroleum technologies organised by the Commission in December 1984, demonstrated to an audience of 400 people from 25 different countries the latest developments of advanced technologies in areas like hydrocarbon prospecting, production, transportation and storage. The Symposium has also allowed representatives from governments, industry and universities to advise the Commission on guidelines and priorities for the future implementation of the Community support scheme. The present report collates the papers and the speeches presented during the plenary sessions, the technical parallel sessions and the working parties of the Symposium. Their contents illustrate the imagination, dynamism and capability of the European oil and associated industries in meeting the technological challenges associated with the future security of the Community hydrocarbons supply.
