Abstract

A series of irradiation experiments under controlled in-pile thermal conditions were performed with MC, MN, MCO and MCN fuel pellets, up to burn-ups of 4% FIMA, in the SILOE reactor in Grenoble. Several tests were carried out in selected fuel temperature intervals, to observe the swelling and restructuring features of the four fuels examined. Conclusions were drawn on the swelling performance of each fuel type under specific irradiation conditions.
