Abstract

This report is aimed to serve as a handbook. It is meant to be used by architects and engineers and anybody wanting to check whether a wooden building component fullfils certain requirements in the field of fire resistance. This report comprises three parts: Part I: Tables classifying the resistance to fire of specifications. Information contained in the tables can be directly made use of by architects and engineers without any additional calculation to be done. Part II: Method of determining resistance to fire of building elements by means of calculation or extrapolation and interpolation. Part III: Comments. The comments are intended to throw light on the reason why rules were set up for determination by calculation and for estimation by extrapolation.
