LOWER HYBRID ELECTRON HEATING AND CURRENT DRIVE IN LARGE TOKAMAKS - APPLICATION TO TORE-SUPRA
A model has been developed in order to study lower hybrid current generation and electron heating in Tokamak devices. This model has been applied to the TORE-SUPRA configuration and the HF and plasma parameters have been optimized for a possible operation scenario. Plasma flat top times of 60 sec. can be maintained with a plasma current I-p = 1.7 MA and a electron density n-e = 4.10**13cm**-3 if the HF power injected in the tore reaches 6 Mw.
