Abstract

Two four-waveguide grills are used in the Petula-B Tokamak at f = 1.25 GHz. Low pressure Argon glow discharge conditioning has permitted RF power up to 825 kW for 50 ms, corresponding to RF power densities of 3.4 kW/cm**2 to be launched into the torus. The conditioning technique is described. Data corresponding to the maximum RF power are given together with RF power dependence of the phase and of the amplitude of the reflected power.
