Abstract

12 MW of Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating shall be provided for the ASDEX-Upgrade experiment at a frequency range of at least 80 to 120 MHz. Ray tracing calculations gave very encouraging results. Computations and first design considerations for the antennae have been carried out including and comparing different possible antenna shapes. The power and frequency demands lying beyond the limitations of available tetrodes, a development program in industry has been started.
