PROGRESS AND PROSPECTS OF CONTROLLED NUCLEAR FUSION
This paper is an outcome of a working group, held on 21st September 1983 at New Delhi, within the 12th Congress of the World Energy Conference. It summarizes the work done in both main areas of fusion research: the scientific development of the high temperature systems needed, and the engineering of the hoped-for reactor system which will follow a successful outcome of the scientific phase. It also touches on the issue of time scale and potential environmental impact for world energy consideration.
