A NEUTRAL BEAM HEATING SYSTEM FOR THE CULHAM CONCEPTUAL TOKAMAK REACTOR MK-IIC
The system described is expected to be capable of meeting the required specification for the CCTR Mk-IIC without pushing existing technology too far. It is interesting to note that the system consumes about 750 MJ of energy per pulse. This means that the Q value for the reactor is now about 14. Q is defined as the ratio of the thermal energy to the recirculated energy per pulse. The neutral beam system now only accounts for about 14% of the total circulating energy in the reactor system.
