Abstract

PuSb and PuTe show quite a different magnetic behaviour. PuSb is ferromagnetic below 75 K and antiferromagnetic between 75 and 85 K, whereas PuTe reveals a weak temperature independent paramagnetism. Therefore we have grown mixed crystals PuSb-1-xTe-x and measured their magnetic moments. It was found that even minor additions of Te change the magnetic properties of PuSb very drastically.
