Abstract

Heat capacity measurements have been made on a sample of high purity PuSb between 10 and 300K. The data shows two separate anomalies. One, peaking at 79K, may be associated with the known antiferromagnetic transition and has a an entropy of 1.4 J/mol.K and the second, centred at 58K, has an entropy of 1.3 J/mol.K. The room temperature heat capacity C-p-298 is 53,68 J/mol x K and S-298 107.23 J/mol.K. The electronic term in the heat capacity, deduced from the lowest temperatures is 20 +- 10 mJ/mol.K**2 and theta-D 151 +- 10K and from the high temperature data is 13 +- 3 mJ/mol.K**2 and 150 +- 30K.
