Abstract

A new spectroradiometer developed to be used on ground and on shipboard applications is described. The instrument measures, on the horizontal plane, the global and diffuse solar radiation by shading the direct radiation with a rotating band. The calibration technique and results are compared with respect to ones obtained with other sun photometers. The instrument has also been mounted on a stabilized platform during an experimental trial over the Tyrrhenian sea. Results are comparable with the ones obtained by hand-held EXOTEC sun photometer.
