Abstract

The information collected in the last years on the environmental behaviour of selenium may be very useful for evaluating the fate of 79-Se, produced by the fission of nuclear fuel and present in non-negligible amounts in radioactive wastes. In this communication are reported the results of our investigations and the behaviour of selenium in the marine environment is described on the basis of a possible biogeochemical cycle.
