Sponsored by the Commission of European Communities as part of its Energy Research Programme, the first European Wind Energy Conference was held at Hamburg from 22 to 26 October, 1984. Over 400 delegates from all over the world met at the conference to exchange ideas and discuss and promote the use of wind energy as an alternative source of power. These papers are covering operating experiences and technology developments in the field of wind energy but also the economic, environmental and political issues. The complete set of papers of this conference have now been published in one hard back volume containing 1,006 pages.
