Kurzbeschreibung

Formation, dispersal, reaction and impact of car exhaust was measured under realistic conditions (quasi point or line sources) in the region 0-10 km by means of probes borne by balloons and cableways. First results are in approximate agreement with deductions from laboratory data. This is valid for the oxidation of NO to NO-2, the O-3 consumption, the production of NO-X by motor cars at different speeds (75-120 km/h). Hydrocarbon emission at high speeds, however, needs further investigation.
