Abstract

The relaxation instabilities often present during Lower Hybrid heating on FT in the "electron mode" have been analyzed. An extensive description of the experimental features is given. We report an interpretation of the experimental results which is in agreement with a model of the relaxation being due to a pitch angle scattering of tail electrons by L.H. plasma waves.
