Abstract

The cooperative work within the European Modelling Group for Solar Heating Systems and Domestic Hot Water is undertaken as part of the CEC's research and development programme on Solar Applications for Dwellings. During the last two years of operation of the CEC 4-year programme (1979-83) this group has undertaken work in the following areas: A generalised and modularly structured simulation programme (EMGP2) for active solar systems with flat plate collectors has been developed to simulate a large variety of solar systems for space heating and/or domestic hot water production, it is primarily meant to be a research tool for the development of improved system concepts and system optimisation. EMGP2 and an earlier version EMGP1, also constitute the reference in the development of European simplified methods for solar system performance calculations. These activities have performed in cooperation with the Solar Pilot Test Facilities Group, and the Performance Monitoring Group.
