  • TRENDS IN PATENT FILING ACTIVITIES IN THE USA. A CONTRIBUTION TO THE STUDY AND ASSESSMENT OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL TRENDS DEVELOPING IN THE USA FROM 1969 TO 1979 BASED ON A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF PATENTS

Abstract

The present report provides a classified, multi- facetted statistical survey of US patents for the years 1969 - 1979. The report is composed of 3 parts: + Part I is a presentation of the publicly available statistical data of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for the USA, EEC, and Japan, covering the filing years 1969 - 1983; + Part II is a presentation of the material according to the technological classes of the International Patent Classification (IPC) as a function of the countries of origin of the invention covering the filing years 1969 - 1979; + Part III is a statistical presentation of the material of Part II according to the NACE Classification System (General Industrial Classification of Economic activities within the European Communities), leading to an industry oriented technology pattern.
