EXODUS - A PROGRAM FOR THE ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF ENERGY EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITIES IN INDUSTRIAL SITES
The purpose of the present study is the development of a selection model allowing identification and evaluation of potential energy exchange and energy integration opportunities in existing industrial sites. The model gives a preliminary estimation of potential energy and cost savings for the companies involved. A selection and evaluation model has been developed and has been implemented on an IBM 4341/2 computer. The computer program EXODUS (Energy Exchange Opportunities in Industrial Sites) has been conceived as a modular and interactive system. The validity of the EXODUS model has been demonstrated on three different pilot sites in cooperation with the companies involved and with local authorities. Special attention has been given to the testing of different data collection procedures. An on site data collection in combination with a general energy audit e.g. an energy bus audit is proposed as the most appropriate data collection procedure.
