ANALYSIS OF NATURAL CIRCULATION PHENOMENA IN THE LOBI-MOD2 FACILITY
LOBI Test A2-77A was designed to establish the characteristics of the integral system LOBI-MOD2 facility under single and two-phase natural circulation as well as reflux condensation conditions. Thirty steady state conditions for these distinct energy transport modes were achieved. Transitions between the various flow patterns as function of primary mass inventory were detected. Mass flow instabilities are observed during single-phase and two-phase natural circulation. The effect of reduced primary pressure on two-phase natural circulation and reflux condensation is investigated. A first comparison with similar experiments performed in other test facilities is performed.
