Abstract

The effect of load histories on constitutive relation of AISI 316 for strain rates varying from 10**-4 to 10**3 s**-1 will be discussed. Physical phenomena as strain rate hardening, strain rate softening, static strain aging, dynamic strain aging, necking instabilities will be reported and discussed on the base of experiments performed on small and large specimens and microscopic SEM examinations. Observations made during biaxial tests will be reported and discussed.
